Retinal 0.2% Barrier Serum for Mature, Sensitive Skin
(13)
$35.00
Gentle retinal night serum for mature, sensitive skin. Smoother-looking lines and texture, without the retinol drama.
Retinaldehyde — the form of vitamin A one step from retinoic acid — at 0.2%, a level chosen for tolerance, buffered with a full barrier complex so mature skin can use it night after night.
If retinol ever left you red, flaking or quitting after two weeks, you're not alone. Mature skin is drier and recovers more slowly, and most vitamin A routines are simply too harsh for it.
Retinol has to convert twice before skin can use it. Retinal converts once. That's why 0.2% retinal can do meaningful work at a gentle level. Ceramide NP, centella, beta-glucan and bisabolol keep skin comfortable, while ergothioneine and vitamin E act as antioxidants overnight.
- Smoother-looking fine lines and texture with consistent evening use
- More even, radiant-looking tone
- Buffered with ceramides to minimize flaking and dryness
- Fragrance-free; airless pump keeps retinal stable to the last drop
- About 60 applications per bottle
- PM only. Wear SPF daily; don't layer with other vitamin A or strong exfoliants

Retinal results, without the irritation
0.2% retinaldehyde with barrier support smooths lines and texture, gentle enough for sensitive, mature skin. At night, apply a pea-sized amount to dry skin, avoiding the eyes. Start with 2–3 nights a week. Wear SPF in the morning.
MISOORA evening routine. Built to work together
Step 1 — MISOORA Cleanser
Start with a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser. Pat skin until damp — not dripping. Damp skin absorbs actives faster and deeper.
Step 2 — MISOORA Retinal Serum
Evening is when retinal works best — skin repair cycles peak overnight. Apply before PDRN on dry skin.
Step 3 — MISOORA PDRN+EXOSOME+EGF Serum
PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a cellular repair signal that works synergistically with retinal. Apply immediately after retinal, press gently in.
Step 3 — MISOORA Moisturizer
Seal the serum in with your moisturizer. Follow immediately with SPF 30 or higher. The moisturizer locks the NAD+ actives in place and extends their working time through the day.

No crazy dryness or anything like that. I’m gonna keep using it because I really like how my skin looks lately. Simple and works for me!

I was a little nervous to try retinal but it feels smoother and just looks a little fresher. I like that my face doesn’t feel dry after using it either. I’m gonna keep using it and see how it goes.

This was my first time using a retinal serum, and I'm so glad I took my esthetician's recommendation! I was a little surprised by the bright yellow color at first, but after seeing the results, I completely understood why everyone loves retinal.
The serum feels lightweight, absorbs quickly, and layers beautifully with the rest of my skincare. After just a short time, my skin looked smoother, brighter, and more even. I wake up every morning with healthy-looking, glowing skin.
This has officially become a must-have in my routine. I honestly can't imagine my skincare without it now!

I’ve been using different retinol products for over a year, and honestly, I was starting to feel frustrated. Most of them either felt too harsh or didn’t really do much.
Misoora Retinal 0.2% is the first retinal serum that feels like it actually works with my skin, not against it.
It’s strong enough to feel like it’s actually working, but still comfortable on my skin. No heavy irritation, no “my skin is angry” feeling, just smoother, fresher-looking skin over time.
I also love that it supports the skin barrier, because with retinal, that really matters.

I'm rosacea prone so retinoids usually = disaster. This one I worked up very slowly and my skin tolerated it beautifully. No new flushing. After 6 weeks my complexion is more unified and those tomato-toned patches on my cheeks have calmed. Cautiously thrilled.

Retinal 0.2% Barrier Serum FAQ
What is the Retinal 0.2% Barrier Serum?
A gentle night serum with 0.2% encapsulated retinaldehyde (retinal) for mature, sensitive skin. It smooths the look of fine lines and texture and evens tone, buffered with a ceramide barrier complex. Size: 30 ml, about 60 applications; regular price $35.
What is the difference between retinal, retinol and tretinoin?
Skin must convert vitamin A into retinoic acid before it can use it. Retinol needs two conversion steps, retinal needs one, and tretinoin is retinoic acid itself (prescription only). Retinal therefore works more directly than retinol and is usually better tolerated than tretinoin.
Why 0.2% retinal?
0.2% is a level chosen for tolerance on drier, slower-to-recover mature skin. The retinal is encapsulated for gradual release, which helps limit redness and flaking.
What are the key ingredients?
Encapsulated retinaldehyde 0.2%, ceramide NP, centella asiatica, beta-glucan, bisabolol and allantoin for comfort, plus ergothioneine and vitamin E as antioxidants. The full ingredient list is on this page.
How do I start using retinal without irritation?
Use it at night only: apply a pea-sized amount to completely dry skin, avoiding the eyes. Start 2–3 nights a week for the first 2 weeks, then every other night, and nightly from month 2 if skin stays comfortable. Wear SPF 30+ every morning.
Is some dryness or peeling normal?
Mild dryness or light flaking in the first weeks is a normal adjustment. Use a moisturizer afterwards, and if your skin feels uncomfortable, use retinal less often until it settles.
What can I combine it with?
Pair it with the PDRN Exosome EGF Night Renewal Serum (retinal first, then PDRN) and the Ceramide+ Barrier Repair Moisturizer. Use the NAD+ Firming Serum in the morning. Do not layer it with other vitamin A products or strong exfoliating acids on the same night.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. It is formulated for mature, sensitive skin, fragrance-free, and packed in an airless pump that keeps retinal stable to the last drop.
Can I use retinal during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
No. Avoid all retinoids, including retinal, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and ask your doctor before use.
How long until I see results?
Texture usually looks smoother within 4–8 weeks, and fine lines look softer after 8–12 weeks of consistent use. Individual results vary.
Is it tested and cruelty-free?
Yes. The serum is MoCRA registered and FDA listed, cruelty-free, and third-party tested for microbiology, heavy metals and 1,4-dioxane. Certificates of analysis are available on request.
Where can I buy it, and how can I save?
On misoora.com and on Amazon. It is included in the Evening Routine PM Set and the Skin Recharge Set, and Subscribe & Save saves up to 20%.
How much is shipping, and how fast will my order arrive?
Standard shipping is free within the US on orders of $40 or more and on every Subscribe & Save order. Standard delivery takes about 5–7 business days; faster options and international rates are shown at checkout.
What is the return policy?
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery. Email care@misoora.com with your order number, and see our Return Policy for the conditions.
